I agree, that this is a great idea. I myself am willing to commit to a concentrated and ongoing effort to gather and unit all expats in Vietnam. I have a project to involve any an all expats. My email is dominguezgilbert63@gmail.com 8401226399851 just down the street from Ho Chi Minh.

I think it may be a simple as expats taking the initiative to post to this group with a location/time/event so that whoever is nearby/interested can respond if they will be attending or not. I will go first :) I'm going to be at Highlands Coffee at 181 Ham Nghi on Friday May 20 at 7pm and would love to have other expats join me. If you have a recent book you've finished, bring it along and we will do a book exchange :) I will be the white lady sitting with a book on the table lol My name is Rebekah and I just moved to HCMC from Canada a few days ago so I'm sure you will all have some good advice for me :) Please respond if you intend to come so I won't be sitting alone waiting for people for hours haha

Hi Allan :) I've been leaning towards living in Asia for a long time (10+ years) but I always thought it would be Thailand. My 19 year old son and I came for a vacation in Jan and he fell in love with a girl so that's what finally prompted the move lol I left because I'm tired of working ridiculous hours only to hand all the money over for bills/govt etc. life is much cheaper and slower paced over here :) I'm not big on the city life. Too impersonal. I'm moving to Hoi An in a few days. The town is much smaller, people are more friendly and you can build relationships easier. Plus it has the ocean! I will be making a living by coaching others through this type of event in their life as well as other things, my freelance writing and renting out rooms on Air BnB :)

My husband has retired and we plan on heading over to Vietnam in a few months. Will probably settle in HCMC and anxious to meet people. Would love to keep your email and be in touch when we get there.
