teaching jobs

I have completed my school and have my teaching certificates. I am looking for a job teaching English. I have noticed that only the major schools post on the job boards. I do not have a degree but i also know it is possible to get a job and work permit without one. Is there an English language news paper or some other place that is good to find jobs, or do i just take my resume to the schools? I am living here now and need to start working.

Actually, as of last December you must have a degree to legally get a work permit to teach English. Before that you could substitute 5 years experience, but that no longer applies. I know of a couple that will hire you for 3 months, which is the maximum you can legally work without a permit. If they think you're an asset worth keeping, they'll keep you on longer. Email me at [email protected] for more info.

Hi,

I am German and will teach German in HCMC from September on. My boyfriend is also looking for a Job. He studied History, Latin and is doing his German as foreign language course at university in Germany at the moment. Is there any possibility to get him a job as teacher for German for about 6 or 12 months? He would like to start in March/April next year!

Let me know, if you know a good address or if you have an offer!

Cheers Jessi

I just noticed this post, which was similar to the other you posted on the same subject.

There is very little, if any, demand for German teaching in Vietnam. The required language is English and there is a great demand for Native English speakers

As some of the above comments suggest, the law now requires you to have a work permit and uni degree to teach in Vietnam. However, I think my school is still accepting teachers who don't have uni degrees. The school is called CEFALT and it's a Government run school in District 3, HCMC. If you're still looking for a job, check out their website (easily found on Google). The school is recruiting now if you're interested.

Hope this helps!
