Hi Everyone, I'm a Brit who's lived and worked outside the UK for so long that I've forgotten where it is. I booked a flight to visit Vietnam with my Filipina wife, led to believe I could get a tourist visa on arrival as we'll only be there for about 10 days. Internet searches now suggest that I need to apply in advance from the UK, where I'm not. Is it really not possible to apply and pay for a short-stay tourist visa on arrival?

You could probably get one from the Vietnam Embassy in the country you're in. Or just go there in person and apply for a visa.

I got my visa before I went to Vietnam, however my friend was able to get his on arrival. Hopefully, you will get more input on this. Good luck! Viet Nam is beautiful!

Jus t be clear you need to have a letter before you arrive saying you applied for a visa upon arrival (this can be arranged online) then when you arrive in Vietnam you go to the immigration desk and fill a form and pay and get your visa before heading to the immigration counters to exit
