John (USA) here

I found my apt in 1 day with Ken Nguyen (best agent in N. Vietnam). I live in E. Ba Dinh which is just adjacent to the Old Qtr ($400. for a brand new serviced studio).

Ken is not only fantastic, but also speaks excellent English and will answer your email quickly.

No, not possible, unless you again live in a village in the back of beyond.

A Yorkshireman is living on $US200/month in his wife's house in a pleasant village in the back blocks of Khanh Hoa Province. But every now and then he takes a break and lives in a hotel in Nha Trang city for a week. He needs to return to reality from time to time.

Living in my own house with my wife and daughter 9km from Nha Trang, we used to budget on 6 million dong ($264USD) per fortnight, including utilities. But that figure was 18 months ago and my wife's family says the cost of living has gone up a lot since then.
