Hi All,

Please help me in finding a fully furnished apartment in Sanaa city. I will be at the Sheraton starting 23rd of this month, help in this regard will be appreciated. I was wodering if I could get any kind of guidance in terms of a short time leasing of 3-4 months for the same.

Cheers,
Deen

Hi,

Did you ever find a nice place to stay? The reason why I am asking is that it looks like I am about to leave Kabul for Sanaa and would like to find out the very same thing as you asked about.

Thanks,

SD

I stayed for a couple of months in the suites at the Shalal restaurant/hotel in Wadi Banat. It cost around $20 a day for 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, mafraj, and 1 1/2 bathrooms, completely furnished. There are three restaurants in the building. The one on the top floor has excellent views of the city, but is a bit more expensive than the other two. There are also several small grocery stores nearby, as well as the ubiquitous calling centers, etc. The guys who work at the front desk don't speak much English, but are friendly and helpful for everything from fresh sheets to candles if the need arises. Oooh! And because it's a hotel, the rooms are cleaned several times a week. It's also kind of nice if you have to take a taxi, because the restaurants are very well-known among all of the locals, so there's never confusion about where you want to go.

I hope that helps. I also hope you enjoy your time in Yemen. I really did, and still miss it quite a lot.
