I will be moving to Central America, and one place I was considering was Nicaragua.
But I just read that Ortega is supporting the leader in Lybia! Now that is real sc frightening. Makes me wonder what might happen if people in Nicaragua start protesting.

Like other countries, our leaders are not the brightest lights on the Christmas Tree though he fully supports free enterprise and capitalism. One of the reasons for the support to Libya is that Qadaffi gave considerable support to Nicaragua in the past. Remember also that the media is a little slow and from my readings, the support calls to Qadaffi were before it was apparent that so many Libyans would rise against their government. Our legislation immediately stated that the President was not speaking for Nicaragua.

Regardless, we were disappointed he had expressed any support for such a brutal dictator at any time. He tends to shoot from the hip but we think it is a character flaw and not a wish to support the policies of Qadaffi.

I wish I had a dollar for every stupid remark made by a politician.
