Car rental or?

Upon arrival at Managua Airport, is it better from cost & safety viewpoints to rent a car and drive by myself to Matagalpa & Esteli or to hire a car-driver? It will be my first time in Nica.

My opinion is that it would be easier to have car-driver or take a bus. It is easy to rent and drive but then you have to keep the car somewhere and other concerns. You are not familiar with Nicaragua. Going with a driver, assuming some English or you speak some Spanish, you can have a conversation, ask questions, etc. The buses are very reliable here so that is always an option and possibly an adventure.

Dear bushamy13

Thank you for your response. The car/driver sounds like a good choice.
