Hello,
I am a young woman who will be living/working in Managua for a few months and looking for accommodation (near the Managua Hilton area I think). Just wondering what kind of options exist for a 2.5 month mid range housing situation...
Thanks very much for any suggestions you might have!

p.s. I'd really appreciate your perspective on this versus other areas to live in Managua as well as living by myself versus renting within a home...

Tough question. What is your level of Spanish or experience in living in other countries? Not knowing these answers, I would suggest living with someone else, renting a room from a family or something similar. It sounds like you are going to be here for a short period, I believe.
If you post on the Yahoo Group - Casa Ben Linder, you will probably get a response for finding somewhere to stay. It is a network for NGOs in Nicaragua.
I'm not familiar enough with Managua for preferred living areas but again, Casa Bin Linder may respond.

Thanks so much Darrell! I'm almost fluent in Spanish and have a lot of experience living in developing countries so I guess I'm just trying to understand what living alone and in a certain area in Managua would look like versus staying with a family/roommate...and maybe what most young international people do when they are in Managua for a mid term stay like this. I'll definitely check out the site you mentioned, thanks again!
