This is only my opinion. I'm not aware that they are looking for a clean bill of health but rather that you do not become a burden to support here i.e. you have the means of supporting yourself in that condition. Diabetics have moved here and other preconditions. You need to consult a lawyer to see if your precondition would prevent you from becoming a resident.


Also, remember you do not have to become a resident and many expats here are not residents of Nicaragua. You simply must leave the country every 90 days (180 with extension) for three days. Many of the expats do not even leave for three days. They go to the border and pay a little extra for a border official to stamp your passport. Corruption is not always a bad thing.
