I stumbled across some great news for those of you that want to stay in voice contact with the States or Canada. After contacting MagicJack before we came down here, we did find out that we could use our MagicJack in Nicaragua and call the U.S. and Canada for free, just like we did in the States. Also, if someone calls you in Nicaragua, they will be charged as if they called your phone in the States. Well, our unit broke and I called MagicJack and learned that I could buy a new unit in Nicaragua and get online in their chat feature and their representative would walk us through initializing the new unit to work the way our old one did, even though I purchased it in Nicaragua. After some questioning I learned that they would do this for anyone that had an email address in the States or Canada, even if they hadn't subscribed previously. In a nutshell, you can buy MagicJack in Nicaragua, go online with their representative and they will set it up with your email address from the States or Canada, giving you calls to both countries free! I was thrilled at this bit of news and just had to share it here!
