Are Marriage and Family Therapists needed in Nicaragua?

I have an American MFT license and have been offering counseling services to the expat community in Switzerland.
I help couples, individuals and children with cultural adaptation and relationship issues. I also work with children with special needs and their families. I have a lot of clients and there is a great need for my services.

Switzerland is very expensive and I would like to leave. Would there be a market for my counseling services in Nicaragua? I usually work primarily with expats but am open to work with locals as I plan to learn Spanish.

I would suppose the answer is yes though remember it is a poor country so your clientele is limited. I suppose the expat community may have a need though mostly an older crowd.

I think you would find interesting work here since it is a highly macho society with some of the local men having multiple families and a mistress is very common. For the expats, many single older men come down here to find a young wife or girlfriend. Unfortunately, women's rights are rather archaic here. An associate was married to a young Nica woman for five years then decided to divorce her. Since she had no children with him she has no rights for alimony or any type of support and was simply let go after he filed for divorce. Apparently no grounds are needed for divorce.
