I was told it was almost impossible (as to cost) to register your auto in nica. Also you had to put dowm 2500.00 US so they could buy a ticket to deport you when they want....woooo
what is this? Help I will believe those who rearly know. Thanks.Joyce

It has been a few years since I brought my Jeep SUV down from the states. Many people here say don't bring a vehicle to Nica but vehicles are very expensive here. If your vehicle is less than 10 years old and you have all your paperwork, you should be able to register it fine for less than $1500. Remember you must be a resident before you register the vehicle or you cannot do it.

The requirement for getting residency and having to have a return ticket purchased was abolished years ago. Talk to a good expediter or lawyer to get better information.

Regards

Darrell

NONE OF WHAT YOU HERD IS TRUE. I MOVED HEAR A YEAR AGO AND HAD TO DEAL WITH ALL OF THAT. IN NICA ITS MORE WHO YOU KNOW NOT WHAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW.

After you receive legal residency status, bring the car down. The biggest problem I've encountered is buying parts for U.S. market cars. Availability and price are outrageous. Many mechanics are clueless about repairing certain makes and models. To that end, I found it is much easier to purchase a vehicle made or imported for the Nica market. Parts are available and generally priced reasonably.
