Good question to which I did not know the answer. I was prompted to search "hard" for the answer as I too should know this.
Bottom Line: (1) Air transport for serious ... get outta here and get to best medical care ... transport (2) American Red Cross EMT but can't locate a phone # (3) Interesting article with recommendations:

Speaking for the greater Granada area. The Red Cross, bomberos (Fired Dept), police and some hospitals will provide ambulance services but none are very reliable and may not even answer the phone. It is best to call a friend with a vehicle or just take a taxi. Some people make deals with local drivers to be on call but still not very reliable.
Sorry but that is one of the services you lose not having high taxes here.

Oh hi thanks for the reply.Gee, i read and was told the bomberos was suppose to be good,Guess not.I do agree about any thing bad get a ambulance evac out of there.Hopefully your provider has a provision for that. No expat shout not have that in their policy, but again not everyone can afford it either. Thanks. again.Mark
