That was a very informative link and thank you for sharing it. I have one question for now concerning the pensianado health check, I have a bad lung and am considered to have emphysema , will this preclude me from residency ? I am on SS disability from the states but far from a life in a hospital or using oxygen tanks.

They are looking for communicable diseases like HIV. They don't want anyone bringing diseases into the country. We simply had a letter on dr's stationary, notarized and apostillized saying that we were healthy and had no communicable diseases. Two lines, nothing else mentioned.

I don't think it will preclude you from residency. As someone else stated, just have the doctor letter show you have no communicable diseases that would affect your life here.

Thank you both for your replies , I am trying to get it all figured out before I come over and being in Puerto Rico now I want to know if I have to make any special trips to the States before hand so I don't have too much drama with the move. Gringo sorry for hijacking your post
