I didn't realize the amount of paranoia there is in the expat community. I suppose it's understandable though. However, I'm not asking for an address at this time, only a city. This is a legitimate television casting for the Travel Channel. The approved flyer that includes their official logo can be found at http://bryanviper.wordpress.com/2014/04/29/travel-show-are-you-living-the-ultimate-beach-fantasy/
Anyone is free to message me directly here with questions or concerns. Thanks!

It isn't all paranoia , many do not want 15 minutes of fame, I am moving to Nica shortly but I do not want a camera in my face or to "glorify" my decision to move there. I won't be living an enviable life there to anyone with the exception of the locals who have to work for a living earning less than what I recieve in a monthly social security check. The fact is that I cannot afford to live in the US on that and I can barely get by on what I get living in Puerto Rico. I watch these shows and I see the finicky people giving me a true understanding of the term "ugly American". I find myself embarassed here on occasion with tourists lashing out because not everyone speaks english and even though I could help them I would rather keep my mouth closed. For those living "off the grid" they choose to do so to avoid the very thing you propose. Good luck to you

You have a lot of people that inquire about living in Nicaragua but very few of them will ever make the move. Many of the inquiries express fear of the unknown and if this is the case you are not going to make it here any way. If you are faint of heart, stay where you are. You are safer her than in Houston, Miami, or many of the other larger cities in the USA. You may get robbed but you probably wont get killed in the process. Probably if there were not so many N. Americans that are so intent on coming here to change Nicaragua it would be better yet. Since being here I have met many that want to come here just to live and enjoy their life. The Nicaragua people are good people. It is no different than the rest of the world. 90% are good,.05 percent are bad and .05 percent are real bad. Come on down, you have nothing to worry about.
