Can I register a car in Nicaragua if I don't have residency (cedula)? I am moving back to Nicaragua, but I don't remember the rules about registration of a vehicle. When I lived there before I had residency but it has expired. Thanks

First of all, how old is the car? Is it worth bringing? Can you get a similar vehicle here without all of the hassels for a similar Price?

My understanding is that your car will get a 30 day visa that you can renew by crossing a border and paying some fees. Folks I know go to Honduras once a month.

You must be a resident or citizen to register a vehicle or motorcycle in Nicaragua.

Most of the vehicles here when someone sells one it is usually used up. Even if you buy one here, you can not register it until you become a resident.
