I have posted here before about possibly moving to Nicaragua, in my research I have heard that part of the residency requirement is that one has to be in good health. I am legally blind and long-term diabetic, would that b considered not being in good health? I know certain countries i.e. New Zealand don't take kindly to sick people staying in their country

You will be in good company in terms of the diabetes. Much of it here, not controlled.

I bring down 500 test strips for the clinic close to my farm every trip. Otherwise, the people have to make the trip to Condega for a blood sugar reading, and the test strips are not always available there either. It's not enough, but at least they are able to screen pregnant women, and address the worst cases somewhat.

Bringing medical supplies into NIcaragua is tricky. They are eagerly confiscated by the customs people, because of the value, small concealable size, and ease of disposal. Some medications are unobtainable here and are even more desirable. Helping here is often like rolling a boulder uphill. You are allowed to bring in sufficient for your own needs for your 90 days.

Education as to how to control diabetes naturally is lacking.
Raw sugar makes up much of the diet. Amputations are common. Sometimes it seems hopeless, but there are a lot of good people out there fighting the good fight. Every little bit helps.

This would be a fertile and rewarding ground for someone who has walked the walk, and would like to make a difference. If it were me, I'd look to some foundation specific to the disease, and try to get a grant. God Bless you in advance.

As to the answer to your specific question, I don't know it.

Nicaragua is looking for contagious diseases. They don't want anyone coming into the country and sharing.
All you need is a letter from a doctor on doctor stationary stating you are in good health and don'[t have any communicable diseases. Our exams took five minutes and a blood test.

My husband is both legally blind and diabetic and we now have our cedula, legal residency, so it is not a problem. We live in Jinotepe and have a terrific store called Santiago where you can get a meter and strips, and a great English speaking pharmacist that has been able to get the right insulin for him. She just needs a day or so to get it in and also orders his smaller needles. He is on a lot of different meds and we give her our list and if she doesn't have it already in stock orders it and has it for us the next day. Jinotepe is a lot cooler than Managua or Granada we are higher up and get some great breezes. We don't need AC just fans and we don't run them all the time.
