Psychologists in Managua

Does anyone know of any good psychotherapists, psychologists, or treatment facilities in Managua or around that area?

I really want to help a friend who is facing many emotional problems. As he says, his reasons for drinking as he does are to forget about everything that he's gone through, including getting abandoned as a child and even raped by so-called family. He has also attempted suicide twice. He practically has no family and his "friends" are drunks and/or addicts. Overall, he's lead a very sad life and he wants to turn it around. He is in his 30's and I want to help him in any way that I can.

He speaks both English and Spanish, so language is not an issue. The issue, however, is that he does not have much money, so he would not be able to afford anything that is too expensive. If anyone knows of any good places, please let me know. This includes any treatment centers that offer financial assistance of any kind. I will appreciate this information from the bottom of my heart.

The local AA groups, at least in Granada, are very active and there is one for English speaking folks. They really support each other and we have a friend who has sobered up and gone straight with them. He was a hard case. I would not overlook that group, there should be one in Managua also.

I am sorry, but I do not know how to retrieve my recent message about Dra Ninoska Salazar, cel 8846-1013 (no English) who works at a (government?) hospital in Granada. Call her.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. English or Spanish is fine. We will try these suggestions and see what ends up working out the best.
