Lots of bar and discos with music too loud to converse. I do have a few places I enjoy going that are more subdued but cannot really be called night life.

Thanks for the info. At my age I don't need excessive noise and not to fond of large crowds either.

I found a noise cancelling headset a good investment. But even that is not a solution to the high powered bass encountered. Bose makes a good one for around $380. Course you'll need buy it in re US or Canada. There is h hotel in Leon where the entertainment seems to largely be chess.. El Susteo in the main park in front of the Cathedral is usually a good enough place. Addiction to cellphones and laptops is a real addiction here. I find myself lapsing into too much of that myself. But mostly download videos in absence of TV. All too few TV stations other than in Spanish and few with sub titles.

Check the Leon facebook pages. The expats have get togethers and those will be good places to meet people who can introduce you to life in Leon. It is a college town, so expect some rowdy times.

Dude, if you can't just go out and sniff the air to find a woman, don't come on this forum to expect us to pimp for you. Loser.

There are some places with life music or concerts: La Olla Quemada (on Thursdays Latin dance night: Salsa and Bachata), on other days they have various live bands. Imbir restaurant: Rather the soft background music with guitar and vocals.
Sometimes really good bands in El Padrino.
There is a Municipal theatre where they have especially ballet (contemporary) shows from time to time, mostly on Thursdays.
During the touristic season there are folkloric concerts and dances on a stage near the Cathedral on Saturdays.
The Expat Lunch is once a month in different restaurants, next Saturday at the beach in Poneloya. Normally some informative guests are also invited, such a lawyer, someone from migration, representatives of a new internet provider etc.
Check out the FB groups "The Leon List" and "Expats in Leon" for up-to-date info.

Before you go cursing me out, old man, look at all that you have described of yourself. 1. 'night life'. 2. "at my age" 3. "drink beer and watch women". Since that is all you have said about your interests, don't go blaming me for your shallow interest level or lack of communication skills.

Salsera thank you very much for the information. This is the nightlife/entertainment I was hoping for.
