After the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Ecuador, the Colima Volcano in Mexico has erupted. The Pacific Tectonic Plate is moving and California could be next!

Local media reported that the quake was felt in several cities. In Quito and Guayaquil several sectors have been left without power. In addition, it is reported that the quake was felt in neighboring Colombia.

The volcano in Mexico is north of Ecuador and its sudden eruption, without warning, indicates tectonic plate stress suddenly impacted the magma chamber, forcing it out of the volcano.

Is it safe to give your credit card info to these organizations? Are some safer than others? Can you use paypal to donate to any of them?

Worth remembering is that in almost every case disaster relief ebbs and flows with the news-cycle. There is no hurry for individual donations, and you might actually be more helpful after the dust has settled and the news trucks have moved on....

Yo @ OM - Supermaxi "There are donation areas at all of Cuenca’s Supermaxi grocery stores" this is what I was reffering to ('grocery + max') I'd ask, "What would Pope Francis Do?" and then go do a LOT of free Pedicures in Esmeralda:))).
