I will be exploring the coastal region of Ecuador. My purpose is to evaluate moving/retiring there. I am a 53 year old single male currently living in Toronto. Looking to travel approx. June. Wondering if there are any like minded people wishing to do the same.

Salinas is more Americanized. And expensive. Hot and dry. Mamy.like it there. The mid coast had a good amount of earthquake damage. Don't go without a companion. But i know quite a few expats from different countries are there. The northern coast is more green and jungle like. Couple of good towns for living. Not a lot of gringos long term here, but easy without a car. Lots of transport options. Prices are reasonable. Just inspect your housing. A bit of earthquake damage here as well.
