Banking question

Hello all,

I didn't see this particular question answered anywhere so here goes:

I have an offshore company in Dubai and am looking to move to Cambodia (probably PP). Now I need to open a bank account to transfer money every month for my living expenses. (I dont have a debit card).

Is it possible to open a bank account with a long stay visa or does one need an employment visa to open a bank account?

thanks

You can open an account with an Ordinary visa. When you arrive at Phnom Penh be sure to tick the box for an Ordinary (used to be called Business) visa. If you're white you won't need any supporting documentation. It'll be valid for 1 month. Before that month is up go to any travel agent and get a 12 month extension. Again, no supporting documentation required. With that you'll be able to open a bank account. ABA is good.
