Hi everyone,
I am planning to move to Dominica with my wife and daughter. We want to open a Holistic health retreat centre. We visited Dominica recently and fell in love with the island.
Our only concern is that the island is in the hurricane belt and it has 9 active volcanos. Should we worry about this?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you, Stephan Subero

It is not likely for any of the volcanoes to erupt any time soon (not likely before 50 yrs). Hurricane season comes and goes. It sometimes causes damage but usually it only causes minor disruptions in our daily routines. As someone who has lived here all my life, for the past 3 decades, I do not think you should be concerned about it.

No need to concern yourself. My family and I relocated from the US to Dominica in 2012 and so far the weather has been great. There is always hurricane season, similar to Florida, but just heavy wind and rain sometimes. As for volcano eruption, that's rare.
