Can i make a living?

Basic question. I'm a 43 yr. American male. I live very low on the grid and love a very simple life. I don't need alot but a certain amount of income is needed. Is there a marine industry at all? I'm certainly not opposed to any type of work. My question is , Is it available for me? All info is greatly appreciated. Off topic info is great too. Thanks??

Hi there! I visit Dominica every year, and even considered retiring there. I can think of a couple of possibilities for you: scuba instructor and organic farmer. A new dive shop is opening up at Fort Young Hotel, and they were looking for American speaking divemasters/instructors. And with the influx of luxury eco-resorts like Rosalie Bay, Jungle Bay and Secret Bay, the demand for organic produce is huge now. Have you checked with any recruiters there to see what's available? I know most locals are pretty poor, but they are mostly uneducated also.
