What country are you in at the moment ? Have you tried this idea out yet? Why choose the Caribbean, its still very much in recession and the main season is from nov to april. you will need a lot of money to start and survive. theres a host of closed restaraurats and bars. You would need to be in the Rodney Bay area

Any business man knows that the description BobbyVeee describes is the perfect time to invest. It's the way the economy will turn around. Closed businesses and shops are breeding grounds for success to someone who knows what he or she is doing. The worse time to open businesses are during the booming economy.

Just my two cents worth.....

Theres more failures in the catering biz than any other . And here theres only so many punters, unlike opening in Europe or the USA. By the way, I started and owned a world wide biz , just my 2 cents worth

I agree with you Joey,

My idea doesn't cost a lot to start! And since a sold my BIG business to start a quiete life with my family, i'm looking to make a minimal incom. My product is inovative...made localy, using local product...
I was about to make a move to Jamaica but with the kids think that st lucia is a better place.
I have tested my product and sold my idea to few friends who travel alot and it's gonna be a hit, i'm sure.
Anyway this year i'm planing to make a local market study and some product testing and demo to local bar and hôtels.
I'm looking for a change in are way of living...i want the local life... i got enough of that here in Québec.

That answers a lot of questions. St L is a great place to live and bring up kids. The locals here are extremely friendly and very open to talk and do biz with. You need to base yourself in the Rodney Bay area , this is where most of your biz will be done. If you can make your product locally even better, no import duties. It would be worth your while coming down for an exploratory recce. Good luck

Whereabouts in Monchy , it can be a great area , kinda between Rodney bay and Castries , You will probably need a 4x4 vehicle , plenty of used ones around. Are you renting thro' a realtor?
