Hello I hear that visitor visas are only 42 days long, is that correct? We were thinking of staying 6 weeks or more. Thanks in advance. Ray

Have found some other information regarding visas on this site thanks to BobbyVee on this site. Apparently 42 day or 6 weeks is the length of visa available so we will need to adjust our return by about one week. Also noticed that a return ticket verification is needed to show customs upon entry. We were hoping on leaving the return open so that we can return early if we wished. Are they really strict with this return ticket? They have the same thing in Panama when we arrived but we were not asked for it. What happens if you do not have this ticket validation when you arrive? Thinking of expats that stay long term as I may wish to be in future, is it true that you need to spend 200ECD per person per month past this 42 day visitor status? How do expats do this? Is it to leave every 6 weeks and return with a new stamped passport? Thank you in advance again

You've got it spot on . Yes 42 days is the magic number !!! If you want to stay longer you have to go to the immigration office in Casties and pay $200 ec per person per month or part of. Ive never been asked to show a return ticket. but ive heard some airlines wont sell you a one way ticket. You also have the option of going to another island for a day or two and coming back and getting another 42 days. Ive bought this up with the Director of Tourism and am awaiting a reply, but nothing happens quickly here,

Thank you very much for info. What island do you usually go to for visa stamp? I would assume that a small group would go together for visa stamps for security and possibly discount travel. What would be an approx. cost of ferry or flight that you would take every 6 weeks if you don't mind. Thanks again for info.

The price of a return ferry works out a little more than the 200ec / month !!! Martinique is the easiest to get to . We paid up front so no going every month, but ive complained bitterly to the authorities, if your not American, Canadian or British , you can get a years visa for 195ec !!!! We are being robbed
