Hello Wayne,

I can put you in touch with a the lawyer that drew up all the paperwork for my business.

It should be less complicated if you want to put the business in your soon to be wife's name.

Once the business is filed for, then a work permit can be filed for as well and your free to begin work.

Cost on all of that is about 5000 USD.

You can avoid the lawyer fees of about 2500 and do the paper work yourself. It just takes longer and is a terribly difficult process.

Nothing is done quickly here, especially by outsiders.

Please let me know if I can help further. And congratulations on the up coming wedding.

Wayne,

Not trying to be too negative, but wood materials are quite scarce on the island and even more costly. I guess it would depend on what you would be manufacturing, but wood is very high and hard to fine.

However, maybe a bit of good news. It is my understanding that any thing manufactured on Island and sold on Island does not require a work permit to make or sell.

Just a couple of thoughts on those lines.

Let me know if I can be of any help at all.

Joey

Also, tools of the trade have no duties added to them, unless they are new and unused. This is a big deal on many fronts, not the least of which is the fact that you will not have to fork out thousands of dollars to bring your tool in for a deposit, that you won't get back for six to eight months after your here.
