Montessori School?

Hi there,
My husband & I are contemplating a move to St Lucia & are wondering about schools for our children. We have heard there is a Montessori school that goes up to grade 6 in Rodney Bay. Do any of you have any knowledge about this school you could share?
Thanks in advance for any input!

No knowledge of that school or any school for that matter. We home school children. I'll do some research and see what I can find out about Montessori.

Hi, the school is called Happy Vale , you can find easily on line. I believe its over subscribed, but you can phone or email them and find out.
There are plenty of good schools on the island, many pupils going onto further education , in the UK or USA. Which country are you coming from, you've given no details on your profile. Good luck Robert

Thanks for your help Joey.
One more question, if you don't mind...
Is there a big home school community there?

We have ran into some parents that home school their children, but I wouldn't call it a big home school community, at all. Then again, we really don't know a lot of people close enough to inquire.

There are plenty of good schools in the north of the island. A lot depends on where you are and do you have transport to ferry your kids there and back, also the private schools are fee paying, how much are you able to afford? If you are going to be in St L for a long time, local schooling is a great way for you and your kids to start socializing, the island runs on networking. Good luck.

Hi there,

I married a St. Lucian and transfered her child from a public school in Castries to the Montessori school in Rodney Bay and it has been one of the best decisions we've made.

It "only" costs around $600EC a month to have your child go to school there.
