Hi there its Robert from Belize here. Yes 6 months is minimum time for long let rates. You need to be in the Rodney bay area, everything you need there, and not 3rd world . a good contact is Done at www.bluereefrealestate.com. but in all honesty you here about a lot of places once your here. People like to look at who they are letting to. Hi season here ends April /May starts again Nov time . loads of places to rent. Good luck. Ask away if you have any questions. Robert

Thank you for all the information. It is of great help. Does Don have a last name? Is there anything special needed to stay 6 months in the country? We have passports. Anything else?

Hi Jackie. You can email or ring Blue reef. Yes Son does have a surname , but is known to everyone as Don . tell him Robert and Carolyn from Trouya pointe recommended him.. Passport is fine , you will need an address where your staying. You get 60 days , then you have to get your passport stamped at a cost of $200ec per person per month. This will change, but don't know when, its an unfair charge, if you sail in on a yacht you can stay for 6 months for free. When are you hoping to come?

Hi Jackie. You need to start looking and booking now, the good places go quickly. As you know we lived on Ambergris Caye, we wouldn't go back. Its difficult to compare Belize with here, apart from having a reef ,Belize can't compete in any way with St L. There a pretty good infra structure here, American style supermarkets , decent comma. And the mountains provide gorgeous scenery and cooling trade winds blowing off them. Prices are similar , but you can buy just about everything here, loads of great eateries etc. What kind of budget are you working on?
