Hello,
We are moving to St. Lucia Feb. 1st.
I am wondering if we will need visas before we arrive.
We have 1 way tickets, valid US passports.... etc.
Everything I am reading says that we need return or through tickets.
How does everyone handle this? Is there a general way/place that people go every few months to renew their visas?
In Thailand we just did visa runs, but I can't seem to find information about this for St. Lucia.
Thank you!

Hi. Unless you being employed by a local company on a long term contract, you will need a return ticket or an onward ticket. You dont need visas , but after 60 days you have to go to the immigration office in Castries and register, you need a letter of agreement showing you are long term renting, and some form of proof off monies, in a bank etc so they can see you can support yourself, you will be charged $200ec / month each for every month you stay, you can , with a bit of haggling pay for 3 months in advance to save the trip into the office. Immigration are going to make this process cheaper and easier, but they dont know when. Trust this helps a bit.

Wow, this is so useful. Thank you so much!
Do you know any other families in the area? We will be in Gros Islet (Cas en Bas Road)
We are very excited for our move and very glad we can plan ahead with everything we have gotten from you. Thank you very much. We owe you!

Hi. There are dozens of families in and around your area, if you go to the Marina on a friday night you'll meet loads of expat families and the same goes for Rodney bay. Wishing you a great Christmas and a Happy New Yr
