It is always good to have a private container of 40 feet. You'll need to store more than your materials. Thinking of tools and more.
Do not expose anything that is not too heavy or to big to carry, because it will get feet.
You cab buy a container with the freighters. We did that a few times already.
To unload your materials, you will get a few days, afterwards they charge rent.
