I was in Chile last year for about six months (two months in (Valparaiso). I am going back to Valparaiso in a few months. Anyone is welcome to contact me.

Hi Everyone,
My name is Marisa and I will be working in Vina for the next two years. I am moving Mid-Sept after Labor day ( Sept 7th ). I spent 6 months in Chile July-Jan 08' and loved it...thats why im heading back for a full time work position. I completely agree..it was hard to meet young professionals in Vina...especially expats.
Right now im in the process of figuring out living arrangements. Does anyone have any suggestions? Lets keep in touch ill be in chile soon enough!!

Hi,
We are very interested in looking more closely into Valparasio as a possible retirement destination, and am planning to visit Chili for a week in 2010. Having live in Valparaiso for a couple of years yourself, I am very interested in your perspective as an expat regarding the standard/cost of living -- which, I believe is a good starting point. I am moving to Vina from the States for 2 years, and I realy would appreciate if you can let me know how it is there. Is it very safe? How about the earthquakes, are they dangerous and strong? I wish I could meet people when I arrive. Thanks,

I'm in Concon and we venture to Valpo occassionally - our Spanish prof is there.
I usually have Sundays off work if you want to get together.

I was there last year for about a week and liked this area. In a few months I am coming back and will stay there at least 2-3 months. What is happening up the hill?

Just spent a week in the area. I loved Vina but did not feel safe in Valpara. Have you had any trouble there? Do not go up the hill.
