If your baby is born in CR it will allow you both to legally work here, but the wage scale for firefighters will be very low. Otherwise you will have to wait until you are eligible for Permanent resident status which takes approx 4 years and the deposit of $60K.
You would need to search the net for info on your husband being hired by US company. This wouldn't allow you to work, though.
Do you speak Spanish? If not how can you communicate with the rest of a team.
