With all due respect again lets clear the air about women and lesbians in Ecuador. Lets talk about statistics because the proof is in the pudding... The report just came about micro lending in Ecuador for 2011. 80% percent of all new loans in Ecuador were loaned out to women.. Every Friday in Quito there is a 75 year old Lesbian that is my wifes friend that sits on a tomato crate with a large note book of loans across the street from the exact location were the President was shot at last year and collects from all the Dentists and doctors that borrow money from her to pay for there medical equipment.. She has a large group of lesbians that have butch haircuts and that go around collecting money for her... If your a lesbian and your thinking about visiting Quito there are 3 underground Teckno Discos for you here in the modern part of Quito... You are not welcome in Otavalo because the Indians think you are TABOO Just like the USA.... MISSISSIPPI is the same as Otavalo.. If you go to the 24 hour Tropi Burger down the street from the airport all the lesbians pick up others on that corner.. The code name is WIKI PEDIA.. The same with Guys coming here looking for 14 15 16 year old girls.. They go to MANGOS or CAFE ROHO across the street from the aiport and they have a back room full of young girls... code name is wiki pedia WELCOME TO ECUADOR.....

Being a male dominated society like all of Central and South America, men can get away with anything.

I've read the articles but I'd like to see more. In my before-Ecuador life I was an anchor-reporter for one of the big three networks. As a journalist, I'd like to see interviews with government officials on how and why this is allowed to happen, more interviews with victims of these camps. Interviews with employees of these places. How does a woman end up there? What is the process? Do they claim sucess with these tactics? What do the "success stories" if any have to say about it? Have there been police calls made to these locations? Who oversees them? Public or private entities? I totally believe its happening. I am just disappointed that more attention hasn't been paid to it. And I can't believe that no media outlets either national or international haven't dug more deeply into it.

This is an entirely true and verified situation.

Just as the treatment for drug and alch. addicition is still in the dark ages.

Perhaps one of the brightest lights we can shine on this new world is the lesson of acceptance of our differences and strenght through our diversity that we Gringos grew up with?

International associtions such as AA and NA are changing the formerly accepted view of addicitionology; By shining the international light on this abuse of human rights and demonstrating our equality as humans on this Planet.

No it´s not. It`s abhorant. I would like to see some more documentation on this. And I am surprised that more foreign media hasnt jumped on this.
I would like to hear more information on this.

I signed the petition at Credo. If you are concerned and want to do something to help and not just talk about it then sign the petition and be proactive.

I am not sure where that story got started, but I am in Quito and the owner of the hotel, who is American says it's all a pile of crap.

Wow! After reading this horrific story about the satanic treatment of lesbians, the first thing that comes to the mind of the first 2 responders is to make a joke about the rape and torture of human beings.

Maybe Presidential candidate Michelle Bachman has a branch of their mission to change sexual orientation in Ecuador. There are wackos everywhere.
