We live in a small village North of Izamal and there are Expats living here. We selected the area because we like the atmosphere of a small community and absolutely no crime.

The Yucatan Peninsula contains 2 states: Quintana Roo and Yucatan. Merida is in the state of Yucatan.
There are many expat communities all over the Yucatan, Progreso, the beach area near Merida including Chelem, Chixculub, Telchac Puerto, and more. The Riviera Maya with Akumal, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel & Cancun. Also, Isla Mujeres is an up and coming expat community. Simply depends of what lifestyle you want......city life with nearby beaches or beach life with nearby cities.
Have fun checking them all out!
