Hi Antoinette;

Looks like that problem is solved. Try my email addy again, I posted a fat-fingered one a couple of days back and didn't spell it right. It is [email protected].

Send a test email, if it doesn't work let me know.

No worries islandantionette. All sorted. Been to Gainsville, been to Panamanian Embassy and emailed Vet at Tocumen. Arrive Tuesday - yeah!

Aloha John: I tried posting this to you at the above e mail address you stated however it was returned. I feel I need to post it here now to assist this person on Expat Exchange Site: I received this from eelydnew1 from the expatexchange forum. I am unable to reply to her/him as my PM box does not show this email. I do not know how to bring up a PM and put the eelydnew1 into it. Can you find any way to reply to this person? Here is the info they are requesting. Sounds like they are in a quagmire. (See post below) "Please fill this form and send it back to: [email protected] or by telefax: (507) 238 – 3855 or (507) 238 – 4059 or give it personally at the office of the Health Ministry in Tocumen International Airport. "

I tried clicking on "To Reply Go To:" however it neither takes me back to the post or posted topic or person. I also tried to do a "search" for the Pets To Panama also nothing.

Anything you can do to help this person would be greatly apprectiated so I do not have it on my mind in proving to be ineffective in this endeavour.

Thank you very much Antoinette

Also thank you for the info that I only need to fill out one of the forms. Please see attached document which is what came to me.

Subject: PETS TO PANAMA

Message:

islandantionette I would appreciate it if you could forward the telephone number to me for the vet at Tocumen. We thought we had everything under control - USDA approved vet in Lakeland Fl. When we received the form they were not signed and sealed at the USDA approved vet we had asked for. Then they said they had to sign on the R.H. side ONLY and the only way we could get a stamped/sealed USDA approved vet signature in all of Florida was Gainsville. So my husband left at 5a.m. this morning. This has been an unexpected frustrating hiccup.

We were over weight on the luggage too, but the cost for the extra lbs. was not high - don't sweat it.

Thanks, John, and we had also found that we were over the limit for luggage on the David flight, so we are driving. Thank you for posting because I'm sure it will help others with their plans. The devil is in the details as they say! Lots to coordinate and very time consuming with pets in tow.

Just a note of caution - if you are flying out from PTY to another part of the Country (say David) the animals will be put into the hold - no cabin pets allowed. It's a quick trip, only about 50 mins.

Thanks, John. Antoinette, we fly out early in the AM and I will let you know of any info that will be of interest to you. Since our flight is a short one from Miami to PTY, only a small amount of food is needed, so I can't really help you there. We will be able to stow that in a pouch on our carriers since our cats will be in the cabin with us. I have a couple of small plastic bowls also to hold a little water.

IIRC, You only need the one form for the pets coming in, plus the forms from the vet and your ag. dept. Don't know about that Spanish one, I don't think you need it.

Send the completed form by email to PTY after you have completed it. They replied to us to confirm they had it.

Aloha Billieg:
Congradulations on your move with your animals to Panama. You are doing it before we are in Oct and I would love to hear your personal experiences with your move. I too have the phone number here and actually did call already talking to them to find out the exact hrs they will be open. I was told until 11:00 pm they also took my information at that time even. They were very nice the forms I have I also will be happy to send to you. I got mine from the Canadain Embassy whom JohnF13 referred me to. One looks to be in Spanish ONLY and I am not sure about what I need to do with that one. I have 2 forms from them. Please fill this form and send it back to: [email protected] or by telefax: (507) 238 – 3855 or (507) 238 – 4059 or give it personally at the office of the Health Ministry in Tocumen International Airport.

What arrangements are you making for your pets for food? I am most curious what you manage to come up with. I hope you will keep us all informed of your progress as there are a few wonderful people here with pets who can all benefit from tips and info. Yours most sincerely Antoinette
