Enjoy adventure, social, dedicated, responsible and organized. I am a Baby Boomer who does follow my dreams. My four children live in Canada and are successful at their chosen pathway which is also teaching but in different capacities. I have tested the waters of running a Bed and Breakfast by Lake Nicaragua. However, it was too sporadic and seasonal. I long to continue my services of hospitality in a busier location. My friends and family encourage me to return to Canada. Perhaps there will be another place where my talents will flourish.

Advice for New Expats

Check into the political structure, the cleanliness, and learn the language. Beware of petty crime. Realize the potential of partners in business. Do not settle for less.

Teaching ESL as a volunteer took me to Chile, "Open Doors" part of the UN. Wonderful experience as I was able to work with another Social Work volunteer and a bilingual teacher to put on Canada Day. I became certified through Oxford courses at SFU in Vancouver, B.C., where I live. Good Luck! A great way to meet the locals.
