Saudi Arabia: jeddah-riyadh vacation swap:

Hi! I may be able to swap with you for that period of time. I am in a 1 bedroom in Jeddah. Let's discuss.

Saudi Arabia: ESL teacher dress code:

You can ask your new employer for a copy of their faculty manual. It will likely have a section on their dress code. I teach at a university in Jeddah. Its faculty manual states that trousers are not allowed, no clingy clothes, no see-though clothes, no cleavage should be shown, and sleeves must extend to below the elbows. However, many teachers on our campus do wear trousers, but with an overblouse that extends to below the crotch. And many teachers and admin staff do wear clingy tops with shorter sleeves or generally tight, figure-revealing outfits. Periodically, there are threats from on-high that those not following the faculty manual's dress code will be sanctioned. For an interval after each such warning, everyone wears long skirts and sleeves.

Saudi Arabia: Finding an Apartment in Jeddah:

Hi, I work at KAU, too. A lot of teachers there have gotten apartment-finding assistance from an agent named Mohammed Jledan. (He goes by "Jan".) His number is +966 (0)59 972 2428. He is on WhatsApp.

Saudi Arabia: Jeddah: temporary & permanent housing:

Hello everyone -- I am a female, just arrived this week to teach English at KAU. I need to find an apartment. My program recommends I rent temporary accommodations until I get my bearings. They've provided a list of agencies for me to contact. As I am driven around the city, I notice many "temporary residence for rent" signs on buildings. So far, they all look like places I might feel scared to go into. Has anyone on this forum looked for temporary housing and do you have advice for me? There is urgency, as the grace period in a hotel, provided by my employer, will soon expire. Thank you in advance for *any* advice!

Saudi Arabia: Working for KAMC, Jeddah:

Hi - I arrived in Jeddah 5 days ago, to work as a teacher at KAU. I have figured out a few things. Maybe I can help. What are your specific questions?
