......and of course I couldn't resist clicking on the link... Sad to hear that, Carlitos. It's not okay at all.

Uruguay: Jose Ignacio v La Barra:

Hello Wengin - would there be a way of getting in touch with the person who owns this property, and perhaps seeing some pictures? A friend of mine would be interested in investigating Uruguay further. Would there be a possibility of subdiving the property and buying subsections of it? If the price of $5000 per ha is being mentioned, this would seem to be the case?

Thank you helpful people - so useful, all these contacts for the rest of us who haven't asked yet. Grateful to you.

Thanks for asking this Sibylleito - am also keen to know. What is the interest rate like on average there please, if anyone would like to throw that info in as well? Would of course just google these details but my Spanish is at the foundation stage still.

I loved this reply. Was so very much anticipating something good and you did not disappoint, Crazyfarmer. Thank you. Can't wait to get there... but will have to, just a little longer. Greetings from sunny Cape Town!

Uruguay: Castilian Spanish best for living in Uruguay?:

Hello ~ I have a regular Audible.com subscription and was delighted to find the Pimsleur language courses on there, offering Castilian Spanish. Am using my morning walks up and down the beach (still in South Africa but maybe next year this time: Uruguay) muttering Spanish phrases and am finding the course excellent. It also is reassuring that the Pimsleur courses have an excellent reputation. And as others have said, one can adapt the language to where one lives. At least people will understand one.
