Kenya: Moving to Mombasa:

Dear Edith/All I have met a lovely lady from the Luo tribe and am moving to Kenya to marry her and live in Mombasa. I want to import my car from UK, loaded up with personal effects and maybe a fridge/freezer or other electrical goods. I have a few questions and wonder if you wouldn't mind answering them: The fridge/freezers I've seen in Mombasa cost about 48,000 ks (£400) and are smaller than UK ones. I can buy a much larger one for half that price in UK. I don't know what taxes and how much I'd have to pay (import, vat etc) to see if it would be cost effective. Also my Jeep is 1995 and am aware there is an age limit on imported cars which some have said is 7 years and others say is 10 years old. Thank you for your time. Laz.
