Uruguay: Bi-Lingual Real Estate Agent:
DearMorrell,
You recommended me to Martina Van- Beren out of Punta del Este and Maldonado. She is great! Thank you! Expats .......I think she is a great help in buying and transitioning. Privately, I can send her email....
Uruguay: bilingual realtor in Maldonado:
Morrell, you once told me of a good bilingual realtor....I've lost that info. Can you email me her name again?

We want to sell our chalet and in-law cottage in Punta Fria, just north of Cerro San Antonio and don't have much exposure. Thank you!
Uruguay: good fishing spots in uyu?:
FYI: I didn't know there are caiyman and I would have swam ignorantely into any water I saw. I've heard there are fish that will swim up a man's "snorkel" and so, I would advise extra protection!? course, that's the Amazon, one country north....But Uruguay apparantely has interesting fish, too, like pirhanas! If you're going to farm in the country, another thing to be aware of are wild pigs!
Tarantulas are smart and will warn you and get rid of bad snakes. Yea, Trantulas!
Mexico: Acapulco - anyone see red object in sky?:
On webcamsdemexico to the left of the points in Acapulco and Ixtapa after sunset I see a glowing red object in the sky night after sunset. Does anyone living in Acapulco or Ixtapa see this? It is in the southwestern sky. Please let me know if you see it. I have a place for sale in Uruguay and can't see it there. Thanks!
Uruguay: Length of Visit to Uruguay:
I also want to know how long, how many 90 day stays are OK....in Costa Rica there is no limit...at least it WAS that way...???
Uruguay: Banks accepting Social Security:
I have heard BROU does accept S.S. from the states....Does anyone know if there is a BROU bank in Rivera?....or just a caja?
Does BBVA accept S.S. checks in case there is no BROU bank in Rivera....and IS there a BBVA bank in Rivera??? Thanks guys!
Uruguay: highest elevation inland town?:
We are used to cooler weather and are looking for a place near a high-altitude town inland.(hoping my husband will change his mind!!!) ....any information would be so appreciated. Rivera? Cerro Catedral town? This will be my dream place....to grow a garden and still be near a clinic if possible for my husband....bus line too. ...we're seniors, but I do speak some Spanish Thanks!!
Uruguay: My visit to Uruguay:
We arrived very late and spent $20 I think on the taxi and went to Hotel Bahamas. (Carrrasco or Carracas, outside of Montevidea - don't like big cities either) .We fell in love with Piriapolis about an hour north of the big city they say..decent price and nice folks. Outside deck and great breakfasts! Good restaurant too. I don't know if they'll give monthly rates. We loved it. They might have an idea and speak English as well. There's a big mall easy to walk to with a bank there as well...Good luck! Its a beautiful country!
Uruguay: How to transfer money to Uruguayan bank:
We transferred over 100k to our realtor by Swift and it cost $45....and 2 weeks to clear. ("slow to pay country") We got Travel Rewards cards to not get charged for use in Uruguay. Now due to my husband's health, we have to sell our near Piriapolis house and guest house with so much sadness. ...so the realtor, once sold, will Swift back the funds. You are so lucky to go.
