Saudi Arabia: Transport for Married Women:
You can take Taxi's normally in KSA.
And for better convenience, you can also use ride hailing apps like careem.com which will provide you with even more convenient and secure ride
United Arab Emirates: Young british female expat looking to move to Dubai:
Don't know about the job part, but i'm sure you can check whether online or through network of friends who might be here in Dubai if you have.
For the location, Dubai marina is cool, there is also near by Area like JLT. check the neighborhood around Dubai Marina in Google Maps.
But Basically you can check Dubizzle for relevant residential units. There you can find annual rent apartments, monthly based rent, and even flatmates (shared apartments). There are a lot of people from UK around here
https://dubai.dubizzle.com/property-for-rent/residential/
The annual rent goes with one check (one year in advance) or 2 checks (6 months in advance, and then the other 6 months) and so on. but of course i'd recommend the short term solutions in the beginning
United Arab Emirates: Emirates NBD or HSBC in Dubai?:
Hi,
I have started recently in Dubai, and in the process of picking a bank. I'm considering two main options:
-HSBC: mainly because I already have an HSBC advance in my home country, Egypt. and would be great to make things aligned, specially with HSBC Global view and ease of transferring money when needed (I do not expect to do that often though)
- Emirates NBD: I hear it is the most widely used among my network with great deals and installment plans in IKEA and many other stores. it seems like the defacto standard here.
Points I am interested in:
- Basic banking operations (withdrawal/deposit)
- Online and mobile banking.
- Paying bills
- Car loans
- Other loans (schools)
- Having USD Account as well as AED
I'm checking the websites of both, they both look fine (NBD looks a bit confusing with different account types)
Anyone has tried both or any of them and might have any recommendations?
Thank you
United Arab Emirates: Im in love, but...:
5 years difference in favor of whom? are you older or her?
um, where are you from?
I sympathize with you, you do not need to give up. It all goes to her family, this is a major factor in the Arab countries.
If you are Muslim, decent, will have her live a decent life, i don't think they'll object. You should seek approaching them (her father) and see how things go.
of course this is if she is still interested. it won't make any sense if she has moved on as you said.
Egypt: Muslim man wanted to marry me as Second Wife:
Dear Christine,
I highly advise you not to. if his second wife is an issue, she will always be, and after all the excitement and charm of the new step goes away. you'll end up with only mess.
In Egypt. the law is a bit messy. Applying the law to be precise. Everything has holes in the law, and the culture is widely to follow the holes. You cannot rely on solely on the law. However, i'm curious to know how the former husbands took all your money. I mean, your money is yours, only yours. you should not give them or even disclose their details to anyone even your husband. respect your own space, otherwise no one will respect it.
If he and his first wife are separated. why are they still married? this is a very valid question.
Wishing u all the best.
Saudi Arabia: AMERICANS working in Riyadh:
all homes are air conditioned, so you do not have to worry about it inside... for the outside, light material (but not transparent) abaya will do the trick... of course cars are air conditioned too
Egypt: Is he cheating - Help with translation:
I hope you had this sorted out. if not, i'd be more than happy to help... speaking both languages (Arabic and English) pretty well here
Egypt: Female Cab Drivers:
Sorry to hear that you had bad experiences with them.
I also highly recommend other transportation companies.
Uber is working normally at Cairo. and it should be decent.
EasyTaxi should (mobile app) should get you access to taxi rides where u can report any such violations
Things are different if you are in other cities
Female taxi drivers are not expected to be found in Egypt, at least in the upcoming few years
Saudi Arabia: Applying For Jobs in Saudi Arabia. Will Companies Cover my children's education fees?:
I am in Egypt is a possibility to move to KSA. I have 3 kids.
Considering the offering of the potential workplace. they cover part of the school fees per child
SR 12K per child, for children who are 5+ years
However, schools themselves vary a lot in fees.. I found things as expensive as annual SR 55K
Some other work places do not do such offering... others offer different quota for up to 2 children. so you'll have to check with them
Egypt: here we go again english woman and egyptian man:
@dlady96
Hebis not necessarily bad. But his family and the whole community will not really like it. And eventually they will have a bad influence
Assuming he is really a nice responsible and mature guy, he needs to be really independent to stand up for it. Most probably you'd better live somewhere else away from his home town
