Some Forum Posts:

Global Expat Forum: Home exchange:

I have had a couchsurfing account for a long time, and been generally happy with the people who have stayed with me. I am wondering about using Home exchange. Anybody got any good or bad experiences with that? Their site https://www.homeexchange.com/en/how-it-works/

Global Expat Forum: Not-yet-retired wanna be expat - Where?:

The most common places people go in Latin America is a loose order of popularity is Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, Belize, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua. The more popular the easier it is to move there, but the more expenisve as well.

Global Expat Forum: How do i find the total number of expats:

It is often tough to get an exact number of how many expats live in any one country. Or at least I have fund it hard to fine. Here is a link to the number of Social Security checks that are sent to various countrys around the world. http://www.ssa.gov/deposit/foreign.htm

Global Expat Forum: Best international private school:

Having taught at two American Schools, I generally think they are very good, but can be a little expensive. It would help if you say what country you are planning to retire to.

Global Expat Forum: Looking for expat retirees to interview:

Since your site is about Social security outside the US. You might find this article intesting, it discusses how many payments have gone up overseas and link to the Social Security Adminstration's website on where they send money. https://globalretirementvillageblog.wordpress.com/2015/02/10/how-many-americans-live-outside-the-us/

Global Expat Forum: funny blogs about living overseas:

Any blogs you recommend of someone living overseas that you find humourous or insightful? Most blogs are just "We did this, we went here." I am hoping to find something a little more insightful.

Mexico: Anyone in San Carlos, Sonora?:

Greetings. I am writing you from Phoenix, AZ. From Feb 12 to the 17th I will be visiting San Carlos. I am hoping to make some videos and create some content for my blog http://globalretirementvillage.com If you have any questions about the blog, please let me know. For now I will let it speak for itself. As a side note, is there anything you can't get there that you would like me to bring down?

Global Expat Forum: Where should I live for a year:

It can be a little overwhelming to wrap your brain around all of your options when you first start researching the many options. Here was my attempt at comparing a bunch of places at once by looking at just hard numbers. https://globalretirementvillageblog.wordpress.com/2014/12/05/by-all-the-numbers/

Global Expat Forum: Did you 'lost your career"?:

I am not a lady but I thought I would respond anway. I taught at American/International schools. Many women at these schools got jobs there becasue they had moved to country to follow partner's careers. These schools are generally very good. Be aware if you are hired in the country, you will be paid less, much less sometimes, than if you were hired out side of the country. Council of International schools is a good place to start http://www.cois.org/
