Panama: Thinking about going to Cuba:

Nice propaganda laden review of Cuba... You could substitute the word Panama for Cuba in that spin and make all the same observations,,, Save the rhetoric for Fox news and other conservative echo chamber dendrites please. None of what you submitted contributes to the body of information on Panama in this Panama forum... Maybe try going back to old school fear tactics and profile some expat who gets mugged for $15 in Bocas....much more drama and ego validating replies for you...fodder for your trophy wall corkboard in moms basement....

Panama: Kidnapping in Panama:

Oh dear God not another one of these live in fear live in fear live in fear post about random crime and Panama again? Again? For God's sake would you guys give it a rest....

Panama: moving to Panama in 2 weeks!:

What?.....you are 'moving' to Panama and you don't have this figured out yet? Lol....... As obviously unprepared foe Panama as you are I would keep a return ticket in my back pocket. Wow.....just fking wow.....

Panama: Any taxi owners in Panama ?:

I finally had enough of the building taxi drivers along with their unsafe high speed driving and dirty taxis Uber Uber all the way when I am in Panama City I only use Uber in fact on principle I will only use a taxi as a last resort anymore good luck with that

Panama: Eco/Nature/Birds/Fish Sites in Panama:

Highly recommend Santa Catalina and Coiba island. Many dolphins, whales, sharks and turtles. World class snorkeling and diving. Butterfly migration on Coiba...so much to do here and relatively quiet and off the radar...

Panama: return ticket necessary for permanent resident?:

My US passport says Panama as country of birth...I always am treated as a Panamanian just as if I had my Panama passport...and if you have cedula?...I would think no one be bothered to look at you twice or question...

Panama: Garbage:

Back last week from latest trip to Panama. Still not sure if it is for me? One of the biggest 'head scratcher' WTF things I can never reconcile is the garbage! So disheartening to be walking around a literal paradise of plants, trees and country and the cultural don't give a f*ck attitude on the trash? On one level it brings out a bad side of me that looks at another person as an animal....worse....not even animals would soil and pollute their environment with its own waste (unless confined and kept in an artificial environment like a pen, cage or corral by man....) I see families hanging out on porch of homes with a literal dumpster of rubbish all over before them and it appears even the thought or concept of cleaning it up just never enters their minds. It has literally become THE sticking point in my last step towards Panama. Aside from isolating myself behind a wall in a gringo expat community (which I do not want to do and is an unacceptable way to live for me) I can't see a way around it... My central and south American experience is limited to Panama and Mexico (yes I know technically N.A.)... So question for forum is; is there places in C.America or S. America who for God's sake have a western standard of trash collection and a cultural attitude that the litter and garbage is unacceptable and infrastructure and services to do something about it? Part of me loves Panama, but it is a simple disgrace how the land is treated. Same for my experiences in Mexico... USA has its own grocery list of issues...bit in general one thing we do well is for the most part pick up our trash. Culturally it is considered unacceptable and we have regulation and services to deal with it. Does this standard exist ANYWHERE south of us? And WITHOUT being forced to live in some behind a wall expat HOA regulated gringo xenophobic community? Thanks!

Panama: Disabled Vet looking to relocate:

Of course you COULD...cone visit for a month and see if you WOULD. Panama is NOT USA... The language, people, culture, food, the land, the garbage, ubiquitous stray dogs and chickens. ..even the stars at night are different. This question is asked every day on this forum in some way shape form. And you might as well be asking favorite book, movies, music, color, food, etc Subjective answers based on opinions from perspective of each persons opinions. ... Come visit, get your own answers....NO substitute for expetience. Are you experienced?

Panama: Advice on where to live in Pamama:

Why does it matter if you are gay, black, white, tall, short, lid/neocon, jew/Christian, man/woman....etc etc. Your a PERSON who is looking to live in Panama. $1500 is no problem if you want to live simple. IF you want an American style potlatch existence behind walls in gated community on beach front and 3000 Sq ft. with 5g Internet and 800 sports channrls....maybe not. To even ask that question at this point tells me you need to come down for a few weeks and put in some personnel time...check out the usual suspects first...PC, David, bocas, boquete, el valle, volcan, pedasi, maybe santiago, penonome...

Panama: RV with cats to Panama:

Does anyone have any experience traveling in a vehicle or RV with pets through Central America from the United States? I specifically want to bring my two cats with me in the RV for my road trip down to Panama....does anyone have any personal experience and verifiable knowledge of the issues involved as I travel through each country side towards Panama? Thanks!
