Italy: Immigration Lawyers in Italy:
Over the last year there have ben a couple of mentions of Italian lawyers with visa/immigration experience. I am having trouble finding the references. If you know/have used an Italian lawyer for visa or citizenship, please forward the information to me or post. Thanks.
Italy: Leaving my house in Italy by will:
Depending on how much risk you would like to avoid, and annoyance for whoever administers the estate:
(1) have a will drawn up by an attorney in the US, wherever you live. Put the house in Italy in the will as going to whoever. (2) Talk to a lawyer in Italy about the issue next time you are there. (3) keep copies of the will with your US lawyer (which is where I take it most of your estate will be) and let any heirs know that the lawyer has a copy. You should consider estate planning meeting to determine if it makes sense to put assets into trust now and appoint a trustee who will have the will as well. Sort of a long way to -- go talk to an estate planning lawyer in the US. If you own houses and have other assets, it is well worth your while and rather inexpensive.

Italy: US Italian Consulate:
It is very unlikely that such a suit could be maintained. You can't sue a foreign state in state court, and you can't sue a foreign state for activity not part of commercial activity. If one has a right to a visa from Italy, then you have to enforce that right in Italy.
Ireland: Citizenship through foreign births registry?:
Apostille are not necessary. Long forms (birth and marriage) are. Would be surprised if they accepted a credit card -- the form says not. Should need a cashier's check or money order. Less than six months from submitting for registry to receipt of passport for the spouse.
Ireland: Retired to Ireland, NOW GIVEN 7 DAYS TO LEAVE!!!:
You two please stop, or take the discussion off-line.
Italy: Citizenship Interview:
Would appreciate information on what is discussed during the interview with Italian Consulate (SF) in the citizenship application process. My impression is that it is the documents. What else?
Ireland: Irish Citizenship:
Any suggestions re someone to review documents for a citizenship application and manage the process?
Italy: Moving to Italy: What to Bring and Leave:
I wonder about higher end items. When I move, should I replace or ship the iMacs and sound system -- replacement would be around $25,000. I
Italy: Required income for retiring to Italy:
A little off topic and not worth its own thread, but for those interested the following from the WSJ this morning:
Outside the U.S., the convergence between banking and fintech is happening more quickly. PayPal’s Xoom international transfer service, which it acquired last year, recently started allowing bill payments to flow directly from the consumer to utilities or mobile-phone operators.
I know nothing more than the article.
