Costa Rica: Pensiado Visa:

I am curious about the approximate time span, from start to finish, it takes to receive a pensiado visa. Would a spouse and children receive the same visa, and if yes, how much time does that add to the process. Thank you.

Costa Rica: Remote medical coding from Costa Rica:

Greetings. I have been following this forum for several years now. I have read about requirements to work in Costa Rica, and Inhave read about internet speeds, etc. My question to the forum today is solely, Are there any members or members that know if expats who are involved in medical coding and billing from home offices in Costa Rica. I would like to talk to those that are involved in this. Thanks in advance.

Costa Rica: Gratuity:

Returning to Costa Rica for an exploratory trip in the first week of November '16. More of a de-stresser vacation for the wife and I. Curious about gratuities as we have never gotten a firm answer. Ecuador it was almost an insult and they would follow you out the door with the money you left on the table. I know there is a service "tax" added to each bill, but are tips expected? Accepted? Thanks in advance.

Costa Rica: Pensiado Visa:

I am researching the pensiado visa. I would like to know, simply, can a pensiado visa be obtained without any prior time living in Costa Rica. And yes, we are making exploratory visits to CR, as we decide on whether or not it is the right country for us. Thanks in advance.

Costa Rica: Medical Billing and Coding employment:

I have read the numerous posts on this forum regarding employment in CR, working online etc. Thank you for the background information. My question today: Is anyone currently employed with an Medical Bill and Coding company, through contract work, living in Costa Rica? Either employed by a company in Costa Rica, or working online for a company or hospital outside of Costa Rica. Thank you.

Ecuador: Aid from the US government:

Remoore2001, I totally agree with you. Saw a posting on Facebooker where someone demanded US help, stating the US is always first to invade. 8 years in the Army infantry and my only deployments were humanitarian aid, not as an invading force. I know of logistical efforts currently being completed by both the US government, smaller government entities (states, cities, towns) and by private corporations and private people. Those making negative comments about any entity are just looking to add unnecessary drama to a tragic situation.

Costa Rica: Muslims in Costa Rica?:

I reported it as well.

Ecuador: basic cell phone in Ecuador:

What about pre pay phone companies? I have an unlocked cell phone I travel with. I usually pick up a pre pay SIM card in the airport of the country I am visiting. Is this service available in Ecuador?

Costa Rica: Tico Times:

Bluewind, in my southeastern Connecticut city of 45,000 documented residents, we have had three home invasions, a murder and a suspicious infant death. In the past 24 hours. Crime can occur anywhere.

Costa Rica: Transporting non-narcotic prescription from the United States:

I have been asked to transport non narcotic prescription medication from the United States to San Jose. This is for an acquaintance who lives in San Jose and can not get these particular meds in CR. The meds will be placed in the checked luggage. Is this allowed? Thanks in advance.
