Thailand: best neighborhoods chiang mai:
San Sai is very big with expats...about 20 mins from city center but everything you need store wise is very close and prices are a lot cheaper.....rents in the 3000/4000 range for condos and sale prices pretty reasonable...300,000/500.000 range
Thailand: accomidation:
I have lived in Chiang Mai for quite awhile and the area I'm in San Sai is about 15 mins from downtown and a ton of Aussie expats here and quite a few Aussie expat bars. Condo's are quite a bit cheaper here and I know of a few in my building which have a few Aussies that start as low as 260,000 baht unfurnished to 400 furnished which is quite a bit cheaper than downtown and really I hardly ever go downtown as everything we need is close by.....give me an email at primepeat@yahoo.com if you want some more info

Thailand: Cost of living Chiang Mai:
You could certainly live in Chiang Mai for 1000USD monthly, particularly if you own a cheaper condo 300,000 baht range as the yrly condo fee's total about 115.oo US so you would be fine. Even renting a cheaper condo in the 3000-4000 baht a mos range is possible
Thailand: Satellite Internet:
I've got a friend who is living in the country where there is no internet provider avail, Is there anyone here who is getting satellite internet as when he calls about it he's not getting anywhere?
Thailand: Tabien Ban, What are the advantages?:
I just recently heard about a yellow Tabien Ban book and everything I see about the advantages seems to pertain to home ownership vs Condo
As I have a Condo and apparently cannot change the condo electric feed I cant see any advantage to going through the paperwork necessary
Are there other advantages I'm not aware of such as health care, insurance etc etc
Thailand: sponsor for a magician:

Thailand: Cheapest Beach or Lake front:
I know everywhere in Thailand is cheap compared to Vancouver Canada but as I've lived a few yrs ago in Phuket/Kammala and looked at some prices in Pattaya and I know they are the high rent districts.
I guess my question is any recommendations for off the beaten track area's, I've considered lakeside but am worried about mosquito's...being from Canada I've seen 90% of the lakeside properties are mosquito invested, where as Whistler and Vancouver were pretty much mosquito free.
Anyone recommend relative mosquito free lakes/rivers or cheap "out of the touristy area beach properties?

Thailand: Car Insurance in Thailand:
I just realized my wording wasn't good in previous post.
I already bought a car value 225,000 baht and was asking for advice on fair insurance coverage prices I could expect to pay, 2 drivers and own damage coverage included.
Tks
