Australia: Teaching in Australia:

Is it possible to get a teaching job in Australia? I've been teaching English/ESL around Asia. How easy is it to get a job teaching English literature there? If not, how about a foreign language? I taught Spanish in a US school.

Taiwan: Taiwan vas. other Asian countries:

I just recently moved to Taiwan from China and I have a question for anyone experienced with Taiwan or Asia, over all. I also visited other Asian countries in the last two years, and I have found that Taiwanese people are not as friendly and open as was my experience in China, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia. I have found them to be more similar to the way locals act in Singapore or Hong Kong. I'm asking because I was told people here was nicer than Chinese but it hasn't been like that at all, including, I have to admit, my attempts to meet Taiwanese women. Any feedback, anyone?

Taiwan: bringing my 8-year old son with me to taiwan:

Hey Weston, I brought my two children to China last year and they were 10 and 11 at the time. If you're going to work as a teacher, you could work a deal along with the school contract where your son can attend classes to learn to write and speak Chinese. My kids were taking kindergarten and first grade Chinese along with their grade level classes plus I did some home schooling. I wanted to have them stay a second year, but they didn't like China as much as me, even though I assumed they would adjust better than me as kids. They're back home in the states with mom and family. It was a good experience for them to have in their life, and they learned some Chinese, but not enough in a year. Hope that helps.
