Japan: Relocate for a year or two.:

During a trip to Japan in April I found myself really enjoying the country, and it got me thinking about living there for a little while. Is there an option for living and working there for a short time if I don't have a college degree? What about just living there, and not working? Are these outrageous questions to even ask?

United Kingdom: Banned in the UK:

Back in 2005 I foolishly hopped on a plane and flew to London looking for a change. At the immigration gates I stupidly mentioned that I was looking to interview with several companies in the area. After spending several hours in the holding tank my Passport got a rejection stamp and I was put on a return flight. I honestly wasn't aware of illegal employment issues and was fully prepared to go through the proper work visa process. Now, can I do anything to remove this stamp? I'd still love to relocate for a while, but I'd also just like to visit the cities that my grandfather grew up in around Scotland.

United Kingdom: US citizen getting ready for UK taxes:

I'm in the middle of selling my condo and packing up for a move to the London area. After spending a month searching for preemptive tax actions to take I feel no more informed than I did last year. Most information I've found seem to be aimed at people trying to file after a year or more of relocation. Are there any US/UK tax experts available for professional consultation? Examples of things I'm trying to find out about: Should I investigate switching my state of residence before leaving the country? Should I expect filing issues next year if I leave in April? Are there any spending or investing practices I should follow to minimize dual-nation filing issues?
