Would it be possible that they also do this to control wildfires in the future and to recover the dormant plant life in the underbrush? We have a state public park that does this every year to bring back the natural prairie grasses. In the wild it would eventually catch fire and the native plants would come back and thrive. Just a thought :)

Wow, that does seem extreme costs! My husband just retired from Laborers union at 54 a year ago. Our insurance BC/BS through the union is only costing us $333 per month. The union covers the rest and they even give us a stipend of $400 if we continue coverage through the union. So we actually get money back, haha, I know weird. I do not yet know if we are covered outside of the US, though. I've heard of people suggesting travel insur. too. Lots of good advice here!
